A $300 non-refundable retainer (payable via credit card) and a signed agreement are required to book your session. This $300 retainer payment goes towards your final payment. Do you accept credit cards?
YES! We accept all major credit cards, Venmo, Zelle and of course cash. This helps you take full advantage of your very special session. You can book the session you DESERVE!
How far in advance should I book my session?
It’s never too early to get on the calendar! We book up quickly, especially during wedding, engagement and anniversary season. We recommend booking your session 8-12 weeks before you need to give your boudoir album as a gift. If you’re in a rush, let us know and we can often squeeze you in, especially if you have weekday availability.
Do your session prices include hair and make-up?
YES! Every Bedhead session includes full camera-ready make-up, lashes and hair styling with our 100% female staff.
Do your session prices include photo retouching?
YES! You will look amazing in your pictures. ALL of the images from your session will be edited to photo finish perfection - in both color AND black & white.
How many outfits can I bring?
Depending on which collection you book, we will shoot you in up to 6 different outfits! You can add an additional outfit to any collection for just $200. You are welcome to bring a variety of outfits with you to your shoot and our stylists will help you select the best ones for the camera.
What kind of outfits should I bring? Shoes? Jewelry? What about waxing and tanning?
After you book your session, we will send you detailed prep guides with all of the info you need to plan your perfect session.
I’m nervous about posing. Will you help me?
YES! We have many years of experience with hundreds of women and we will guide you every single step of the way. We know how to find flattering angles and good lighting to bring out the individual beauty of every woman. We will tell you how to pose your body and what to do with your face.
Do you specialize in shooting curvy/ plus-size women?
YES! Women of all shapes and sizes feel beautiful and pampered at the Bedhead studio. Check out our gallery to see photos of all kinds of fabulous women.
Will you photoshop my cellulite/ stretch marks/ acne?
YES! All of the images in your gallery will be edited to photo-finish perfection. This is included in your session fee!
Will you post my images online?
No. Your privacy is our number one priority. We DO NOT post or share your images with anyone without permission. Your online images galleries will be private and password protected. All of the pictures that you see on Bedhead’s website or marketing materials are used by permission. You DO NOT need to agree to share any of your images in order to book a session!
How long should I plan for my boudoir photography experience?
From start to finish, you should plan to be at the studio for about 3-4 hours: approximately 30 minutes for wardrobe consultation and getting ready, 90 minutes for hair and make-up and 30-60 minutes of shooting depending on the collection you selected.
Should I arrive early to my session?
No. The time you are given when you book is the time that you need to arrive. We typically schedule a few sessions every day, and on-time arrivals help us to remain on schedule.
Where will my session take place?
Bedhead Boudoir is located at 72 Abbottsford Road Winnetka, IL. We have two stories of studio space, complete with multiple photo studio rooms and a hair and make-up suite.
I live in the city and don’t have a car, can I take the train?
You will receive a link to a password protected gallery a few days after your shoot, sooner if you are in a rush. This gallery will include ALL of the images from your session, fully retouched in color and black & white. From this gallery, you will select the images you want included in your book or album. You can also select additional prints and products (such as calendars and canvas wraps). Your products will be shipped to you in 1-2 weeks (with tracking number; no signature required). In most cases, a rush fee can be added if you need your images or products sooner.
How long is my gallery open?
2 weeks. If you need it reopened or opened longer there is a small fee. If you would like to keep your images longer than 2 weeks, we recommend purchasing the digital images or our private Bedhead photo app.
Can I right click on the images in the gallery and download them?
No. The images in your gallery are watermarked and it is not legal to download them by right-clicking. Digital images with unlimited printing rights are available for purchase with any collection. We also have a Bedhead photo app available for purchase. The app allows you to keep your photos on your phone - but out of your Camera Roll!
Can I buy the digital images from my session?
YES! Many of our collections include digital images with unlimited printing rights. If you have purchased digital images, they will be delivered to you via a gallery download 7 days after your session or sooner.
What types of prints and products can I buy from my session?
Bedhead Boudoir is proud to partner with the nation’s top printing labs to bring you an assortment of fun image products, including books, albums, calendars, the Peep Show 3D viewfinder, and canvas wraps. We also offer an exclusive Bedhead digital image app and we can even create a video or slideshow put to music for you. Boudoir products make for fantastic Valentine’s Day, anniversary, wedding, birthday and honeymoon gifts! Visit our store to see all of the options!
Do you archive my images?
No. For your privacy, we do not archive or keep your images after your order has been placed. Please remember to back up your digital image purchases!
What kind of props do you have at the studio?
The Bedhead Boudoir studio is stocked with everything we need to design a unique look for each client. We have multiple rooms fully equipped with beds, chairs, couches, pillows, sheets, fur rugs, furniture, and chandeliers. We also have a prop closet with robes, shoes, jewelry, some sports teams, a variety of bridal veils and other fun items!
There is a pose/image I saw on Pinterest can I bring it to my session?
YES! Every woman is unique and we encourage you to bring inspiration poses from any source on your session day.
What is Bedhead Boudoir’s style?
Bedhead Boudoir specializes in creating sexy, classy, unique art, images for women of all ages and sizes. We offer shoots to women and couples wearing sultry lingerie, flirty outfits, glam and implied nudity. We do NOT offer crotch shots or other types of highly explicit poses or images.
Can you host a birthday party / bachelorette party at the Bedhead Studio?
YES! We have customized packages available for groups of 3 ladies or more. Contact us for more details.
YES! We have a special couples collection. If you you would like to add on to it with more products we are happy to!
Can I bring a friend to my session?
YES! We are happy to meet your female friend. Once she sees the Bedhead Boudoir studios, she’ll probably want to book a session too!
Is there an age limit?
Bedhead Boudoir shoots women ages 18-108! (Complimentary champagne served to ages 21+).
Do you offer any discounts or Groupons?
In general, Bedhead Boudoir’s full-service approach does not allow us to offer discounts. However, if you and a friend each book a session on the same day, we can offer you each 10% off of your collections. Also, by signing up for our newsletter with the form at the bottom of the page, we’ll keep you in the loop about seasonal promotions.
Why are there such huge price differences among boudoir photographers in the Chicago area?
Bedhead Boudoir is proud to offer a full-service photography studio experience. Some start-up photographers in the area who offer discount boudoir packages may be skimping on insurance, licenses, equipment quality or your privacy. Please be aware that it is illegal in the state of Illinois to operate a business from a hotel room. We have been in business since 2012!
